The 2015 Walk to End Alzheimer’s
Every 67 seconds a person in the United States develops Alzheimer’s disease. If that fact is not scary enough, Alzheimer’s is also the only disease that cannot be prevented, cured or slowed down. This makes funding and supporting Alzheimer’s research more important than ever before.
Comfort Keepers in Santa Clarita is proud to support the upcoming 2015 Walk to End Alzheimer’s. This is the largest event that goes on around the nation – with over 600 walks nationwide – to help and raise awareness and funds for research, support and care for Alzheimer’s disease. So mark your calendar this year Santa Clarita Walk To End Alzheimer’s is Sunday, September 20th, 2015.
This year, Comfort Keepers employees in Santa Clarita, along with locations all around the nation will be participating and recognized as a Walk National Team. The goal of this team is to raise $50,000 for the fundraising efforts.
The fact is that each Comfort Keepers employee in Santa Clarita has been touched or affected by this disease in some way. This is no surprise since this is the sixth leading cause of death in the U.S. The team at Comfort Keepers wants to help be part of the cure and help to provide the funding to propel the research for this disease to finally find a cure that will give families their loved ones back.
There is no question that Comfort Keepers serving the Santa Clarita area is dedicated to taking care of seniors in the community. They are further expressing this commitment by joining other branches of Comfort Keepers from around the nation to raise money and awareness of this disease.
